We have been working on cause and effect in class. Your assignment for this week is to come up with three examples of cause and effect that you found in the book you are currently reading. I want you to find the cause and effect, then combine them to make one sentence using a signal word.
example: I am currently reading The Witches by Roald Dahl. Here is a cause and effect from the book...Cause: Luke trained his mice outside of the hotel room. Effect: Luke is trapped behind the screen in the grand ballroom.. combined sentence. I am currently reading Percy Jackson The Last Olympian. Here are many causes and effects from the book. Cause- you meet Morpheus Effect-you fall asleep.

The book I am reading is called "The Lemonade Crime". The first cause and effect is: Scott through a basketball, and it hit the TV, so the screen on the Tv got cracked. The second one is: Scott broke the TV screen for that reason Scott got in trouble. And last: Even lost the trial, consequently Even didn't get the X-box 20/20.

The book I am currently reading is called Cyberpals According to Kaley by Dian Curtis Regan. Here is the cause, Kaley thought her pen pal was a girl, but was a boy. The cause was her pen pal didn't like her. Kaley thought her pen pal was a girl, consequensly her pen pal didn't like her. #2. The cause is her dad doesn't like ties. The effect is so he doesn't wear ties. Kaley's dad doesn't like to wear ties, therefore he doesn't wear ties.#3. The cause was Shanay got a four lettered paper from her pen pal. The effect she brags about it all day long. Shanay got a four lettered paper from her pen pal, hence she was bragging about it all day long. #4. The cause is her dad likes Friday. The effect it is casual day. Kaley's dad likes Fridays because it is casual day all day.

ReplyDeleteI am reading the book "Spellbound" which is the sequel to "The Shadows" both by Jacqueline West. Cause- Olive told Rutherford about the houses secrets. Effect- Horatio got mad at Olive. Olive told Rutherford about the houses secrets therefore Horatio got mad at her. Cause- Olive heard Rutherford mention a spell book that could of belonged to the witches she told him about. Effect- Olive went looking for the spell book in her parents library. Olive heard Rutherford mention a spell book so Olive went looking in her parents library. Cause- Olive looked up. Effect- Olive saw Rutherford in front of her. Olive looked up and therefore she saw Rutherford.

ReplyDeleteIn my book, The Homework Machine written by Dan Gutman I will tell you the Cause and Effects. 1 Cause Brenton tells Snikwad about the Homework machine, Effect Brenton knew it was wrong the second it came out of his mouth. 2 Cause, Snikwad tells the D Squad about the Homework machine, Effect they need to see it to believe it. 3 Cause Judy doesn't think it's a good idea, Effect it wasn't. Right now I'm reading Castle Avimer by Kathleen Duey. Here are 3 cause and effects from my book. First, Hart steels a book from Lord Dunraven. Because of this, pepol try to take the book from her. Second, Hart trys to finde the family who left her by the Blue River when she was young. When she found out why she was left by the river she was sad. Third, Hart's unicorn healed her friend Davey. Therefore, Davey learned that unicorns are real.
